An irradiance sensor is a meteorological and industrial device that measures the amount of solar radiation reaching the surface of a photovoltaic (PV) panel. The measured parameter is typically expressed in W/m² (watts per square meter), representing the amount of energy per unit area.

These sensors are widely used in solar power plants (PV plants), meteorological stations, environmental monitoring systems, and smart agriculture applications.

With the collected data, solar energy production performance can be analyzed, atmospheric radiation levels can be monitored, and environmental data models can be developed.

In solar power plants, irradiance sensors measure the actual solar energy reaching the panels.

As a result:

  • Panel performance is analyzed.
  • Energy production efficiency is calculated.
  • System faults are detected early.
  • Power plant performance reports are generated.
The system performance ratio (PR) can be calculated by comparing the radiation value measured by the sensor with the electrical energy produced by the power plant.

The installation process is carried out in 4 stages based on demand:

  1. On-site inspection or project review,
  2. Selection of suitable sensors and mounting accessories
    (Custom mounting brackets can be manufactured according to your site requirements.)
  3. Sensor installation and calibration
    (If requested, our field team can provide on-site installation services.)
  4. Sensor testing and personnel training

 

The shipping and installation process can be completed within 5–10 business days.

Meteorological measurement sensors are designed to operate with:

  • 9–48 V DC power supply
  • 9–12 V DC power supply
  • Solar panel + 12 V DC battery systems

Thanks to energy management in solar-powered configurations, the sensors can provide uninterrupted data transmission for up to 1 week even in the absence of sunlight. With their low-power electronic design, the systems deliver high energy efficiency and long-term field operation performance.

It can measure many meteorological parameters such as solar radiation, UV index, albedo, snow depth, temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed and direction, precipitation, soil temperature and moisture, evaporation rate, and more. Customizable configurations are available according to your specific needs.

Sensors are available with the following output signals:

  • Modbus RTU RS485
  • Analog 4–20 mA
  • Wireless communication
  • Pulse output
  • 0–2 V output signals

Note: For your custom projects, different output signal types can be integrated upon request.

Pyranometer:

Measures the amount of global solar radiation. Used to calculate the average solar production amount when a site for a solar power plant is selected, by taking periodic measurements before the plant is built.

Solar Irradiance Sensor:

Measures the amount of radiation incident on the plane of a solar panel. PV-based panel plane irradiance sensors are placed in the direction of the panel and parallel to the panel plane after site installation is complete. The most accurate radiation measurements in solar power plants are obtained with irradiance sensors operating on the panel plane.

All meteorological weather observation station sensors come with a full 2-year warranty. Affordable maintenance and spare parts support are offered after the warranty period.

We offer 24/7 technical support. We provide immediate support via phone, email, and remote access. We also offer on-site emergency response services for critical systems.

Advanced data analysis software is not included in our pricing. We offer graphic visualization, report generation, alarm systems, data export, and API access services through our partners upon request. We can also provide support for custom analysis modules and integrations upon request.
